Dear horsey friends A lovely holiday was had by all-we had one small camp and one large one as it turned out and lots of fun was had by all. You all did ever so well- clean yards and horses and riding well – congratulations Valhallians new and old. Results on back of newsletter.
We have some new friends – Comet, Buzz, Homer and Ebony. Comet is an eight year old Paint 14h.h. or so, courtesy of Olivia. He is not yet broken in so we have some work ahead but he is learning quickly with the few lessons I have had time to give him. Buzz is a small palomino pony (something like Pete with ½ size legs).
He is a bossy little fellow to other horses – he must have been a bigger horse in a previous life. Then Homer is a Clydesdale, younger and more forward moving than Solomon – we hope they will be friends, but at the moment Sol is ignoring him and his best friend in the whole world is Ebony a bay pony about the size and shape of Tumbleweed, we have hopes she will be a second Tumbleweed in nature.
Another news item we forgot to include in the last newsletter that we are very excited about – Donna had a staring role in Angie’s wedding and she carried the bride. Some of you might not remember Donna – she is a big fat black draught horse, a good mate of Solomon’s and very sweet. Angie was good enough to give her a home when she became a little too old to keep going out on rides and it has worked very well and she iv very happy.
We have been fencing 5 days a week between rides trying to fence a safe area for the foals to be weaned. I really wanted to have it finished by now but there is still a lot more to do.
The agistment paddocks are full again – one of the horses in there is for sale. He is about 14h.h. chestnut and friendly, Nathaniel has been keeping him in work and says he is good to ride. Not suitable for a beginner. If anyone is interested we can give you contact details.
The next holiday camps will be
July 12th to 17th
July 19th to 24th
Still $600 but will be going up by Xmas due to increased costs.
Looking forward to seeing you all
Yours with a whinny
